It's Raining Men!
I got outside this morning and for the first time in what seems like ages I smelt the freshness of rain. Here in the Fraser Valley that smell is all too familiar because it rains.. a lot.. like a lot a lot. But this fall has been the first fall in my life time where the rain was completely absent! Which was just the break I think we all needed! The sun was out everyday with no clouds in sight, and when the leaves started to turn different colors it was gorgeous! But because I couldn't remember the last time it did rain, I stepped outside and it was kind of refreshing! Kind of the, "Annnnnddd were back" feeling. I probably won't feel the same way about it in a couple of months but hey! It's nice for now :) So enough about the weather, let's get back to hair! Men's hair! I love to talk about men's hair because I feel men have been left in the dust when it comes to style. We get men that come in the shop all the time asking to see pictures of men's styles, or asking me for different ideas and it can be somewhat of a challenge through the sea of women's styles. Thank goodness for the internet!! It was DEFINITIVELY easy pick my favorites and looking at all that eye candy ;) Let the rain pour, gentlemen!

A very classic look. short and sweet.
"Brotip #788: no bro should ever spend more time doing his hair than his girlfriend."
Every guy wants that careless, I just got out of bed look. If you want something easy, keep it short!

Ahhh.. Zach Effron.. rocking the part and modern combover. Need I say more?
Screams hockey all star...I absolutely love this look, maybe because I'm Canadian.. eh?
A version of a Pompadour. Looks really classy paired with a suit but can be worn in a casual way. Plus is adds height for those nights your lady decides to wear her stilettos.
The look is very polished, but the cut is so versitile. Extreme disconnection which leaves a lot of room to play around while still keeping it clean at the sides. Wear it up, wear it down, sideways, add texture, keep it sleek, all back, all forward. you get the idea.

If your going to do spikes, please use a paste, wax, or spray. Dippity doo called, it wants to go back to the 90's and never come back.

Love the texture!
For the curly hair men: invest in some product! Underneath that frizz is beautiful curl.
oh, hey there.
Simple
Keeping the sides short but still having length on the top gives you many styling options without the wings.
DO NOT BE AFRAID OF COLOR!! They have come a long way when it comes to coloring for men, especially in the grey blending department. It adds just a little more pepper to your already salt and pepper hair.
Oh, whats that? Another parted comb over? =D
Extreme height.
I think Brad Pitt can pull off anything but the stubble to messy hair ratio is spot on.
Very strong lines = very flattering

Danielle and Stephen
I had the honor to be apart of my dear cousin Danielle and her Husband Stephen's wedding day. Not only did she ask me to be apart of her wedding as a bridesmaid, I also had the opportunity to do all of the hair. Thank you guys! I love you and wish you all the best in the future!
I would also like to thank Dragonflight photography for doing such an amazing job!

How To Talk To Your Stylist
Ever find it difficult to express what you want to your stylist?
Here are some tips!:
Are you happy with your present hairstyle or would you like a new look? If you want to try something new, don't be afraid to let your stylist know! They might have some suggestions of a style that would better suit your face shape, lifestyle, or skin tone. That being said let them know as well if you are not comfortable with what they suggest. remember, it's YOUR hair, on your head, that you have to wear! We want to make you FEEL like a rock star, not necessarily look like one..
Don't be afraid to tell your stylist how you really feel! If your not happy with the work he/she did, let them know! A good stylist will NOT take it personally and be more than willing to correct or redirect your style in a way that BEST suits you and your lifestyle.
If you have found pictures of styles that you like or want to try show them to your stylist! Keep in mind that the picture might not be realistic to your hair but it would definitely help as a guide to get to where you want to be.
Do you like the length of you hair? Lack of communication from you to the stylist can make a one inch trim into a six inch cut. Yikes!! Make sure your very clear about the LENGTH you want off to the stylist to avoid any tears.
Let the stylist know how much time you have in the morning to get ready. If you like a wash and wear kind of style, make sure the style your choosing matches your natural hair( if you have curly hair, don't pick a style that's really smooth and sleek).
On the other hand let your stylist know if you ARE willing to spend the extra time and to show you a trick or two on how to get you there. You should be able to duplicate at home what the hairdresser did in the salon so he/she should show you everything you need at home to make sure that's possible.
A Visit to the salon should be an exciting, relaxing, and an enjoyable experience, not something you dread. If you and your stylist both have a clear understanding of what you want then everyone is happy. As professionals, its our job to get you the look you desire, while educating you along the way.
